After winning the 2011 Women’s World Cup, Team Japan have returned and arrived home to a hero’s welcome. The champions arrived at Narita International Airport in Narita, east of Tokyo on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. The Team received a hero's and a very warm welcome from their fellow countrymen and thousands of fans which gathered at the airport waving flags and cheering with gigantic applause. Team Japan presents their 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup trophy to Japan Prime Minister Naoto Kan. Japan's women soccer team marked a record aside from 2011 Women’s World Cup Champion, they are the first Asian nation to win the coveted title.
