CLINTON - CYPRUS ISSUE - TURKEY

The Cyprus issue will be among the issues the US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton will raise during her meeting with government officials in Turkey.

“Certainly, she will raise regional issues with Turkey, and they’ll talk about Greece and Cyprus and about domestic developments in Turkey, as they always do. So that will definitely be a part of the conversation”, a Senior State Department Official told reporters covering the US Secretary of State visit in Turkey.

The Senior State Department Official was responding to a reporter, during the flight to Turkey, who asked whether he was aware of a nine-page letter the Hellenic American Institute sent to the Secretary of State outlining its demands, and whether Clinton was intended to raise any of those issues, among which the Cyprus problem and Turkish claims on the Aegean sea.
